Cook's Corner, our favorite local hangout!

A day at Cook's Corner.

Usually, Cook's is our destination if we are considering a nice atmosphere and don't have much time for a longer ride. Cook's Corner is located where Santiago Canyon & Live Oak Canyon come together, about 7 miles directly east of what is currently the El Toro Marine Base. From the south, you can easily exit from Interstate 5 on to El Toro Road, and proceed north about 8 or 9 miles. From the north, you can exit the Costa Mesa Fwy, 55, on Chapman Avenue, and proceed east, as this road becomes Santiago Canyon Road. On weekends, it will be hard to miss Cook's if you are driving past, as you can tell. You will be able to mingle with many a 4N RockeT® Rider. Once there, you can enjoy you favorite cold one with some good food. You will find all kinds of people here, and everyone is here to have a good time. There is lots of great scenery to check out, landscape and women included. Check out the Cook's Corner website for more info.

If you are looking for a quieter atmosphere, you can head down Live Oak Canyon Road through some nice twistys, through O'Neill Regional Park where the road becomes Trabuco Canyon Road. Continue past the fire station and you will come to Trabuco Oaks Drive. There on the corner, you will find the Trabuco General Store, a great place to take a rest, grab a snack, and meet some people. Just down the road from the store you will find the Trabuco Oaks Restaurant. Normally you will need a reservation, but it is well worth the effort. Some of the best steaks are served here. But be sure that you're not wearing your favorite tie, or an expensive one at that. Besides, ties are not required attire.
